The World Expo 2020 in Dubai which was postponed due to the Covid pandemic, finally opened its doors on October 1, 2021 for a period of six months. This is the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region.
The theme of this edition is “Connecting Minds, Creating Futures”. This theme is based on the belief that innovation and progress are the result of people and ideas coming together in new and unique ways. It has three sub-themes: opportunity, mobility, and sustainability. 192 countries, as well as international organizations, educational institutions, and businesses participate. 22 million visitors are expected to attend this event.
The Cambodia pavilion occupies 200 square meters and the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) of Cambodia has appointed Beyond Retail Business Cambodia as the exclusive operator of the Cambodia Pavilion Trade Zone. The company’s mission is to promote Cambodian products, arts, and know-how on the international stage through this trade zone. More than 20 local brands, including those of Confirel, are represented and showcase the best of Cambodia’s know-how and talents. The previous World Expo was held in 2015 in Milan. Confirel products were also present in the Cambodia Pavilion and had been a great success with the public as well as with professionals and specialists of organic food.
